Young Army Cadet Dies Just Weeks To His Passing Out Parade (Photo)
This is very sad. A young army cadet who was already preparing for his Passing Out Parade (POP) -has passed away. Company Sergeant Major Musa Muhammad Yakubu -died exactly one week to his POP following a brief illness (high fever). This is according to his friend who shared the sad news. May his soul rest in peace.
Secondary School Teacher Asks 17-Year-Old Student For S3x In Uyo (Photos)
We are no strangers to the abuses girls are plagued with all their
lives. Most girls face these things right from secondary school and at
the hands of hypersexual overreaching teachers and youth Corps members
(one of the reasons I don't support the posting of inexperienced and
irresponsible young boys to teach and abuse girls in secondary schools
in the name of nysc).
What we have here is a case to show how deep we have snowballed. A young teacher, named Ndubuisi Vincent, takes mathematics at Nuco comprehensive secondary school, Uyo. He has been disturbing a student known as Idara Okon for sexual favours for a long time. He took his advances to Facebook and he sent the girl inappropriate messages. The girl could take it no further and she resolved to expose him by sharing screenshots of their conversations online. She tagged other teachers and the school management. I have uploaded the said conversations here as proof together with other screenshots surrounding the event.
I enjoin concerned Nigerians to fight against child abuse and female abuse. The girl child suffers too much in Nigeria. At 17, a girl should be focused on her books and passing WAEC, NECO, JAMB, and any other exam that Nigeria plagues her with, and not sleeping with randy male teachers who have nothing to offer. I seize this medium to warn all those partaking in this great injustice, at all levels, to desist from it. Those who do this forget the law of karma. They'll soon have daughters of their own. Apart from that, they forget that the world is becoming better oriented and advanced. As for the guilty ones, learn from this and know that your time is coming. Trust me when I say you won't believe it when it happens.
This young teacher needs to be punished and prosecuted for child abuse, breach of trust and any other crime he has committed. Let his case serve as a detterent for others who engage in questionable acts such as this. The next people that will be served like this are randy male corpers who abuse people's children in the name of serving the country. To those corpers, I say "big brother is watching you"!

No Plan To Strike, ASUU Assures Nigerians
![]() |
The Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, has no plans to commence an interim strike on October 2, an official has said.
The Chairman of the University of Abuja chapter of ASUU, Ben Ugheoke, told PREMIUM TIMES on Wednesday that he was wrongly quoted on a planned strike.
The News Agency of Nigeria had quoted Mr. Ugheoke on Tuesday as saying the lecturers’ strike would commence next month.
In an interview with PREMIUM TIMES on Wednesday, Mr. Ugheoke told said he never gave such statement to the NAN reporter.
“A certain reporter in NAN is responsible for this damage,” he said. “As a result of this falsified report, I am facing a panel later tonight from ASUU National body.”
The university don said he had asked for a rebuttal of the story since it was published.
“I have reached out to the NAN reporter and he told me it was a mix-up. He also begged me to save his job,” he said.
In the report widely circulated by Nigerian media, the government news agency quoted the don as saying ASUU was to embark on a one-week warning strike from October 2.
The report also said a full blown strike was planned for November if the federal government failed to meet the demands from its negotiations with ASUU in 2009 and 2013.
The report also highlighted that the federal government was yet to provide funds for the Universities NEEDS Assessment and the facilitation of the registration of the Nigerian Universities Pension Management Company, NUPEMCO.
Speaking on ASUU, Mr. Ugheoke said the union had been sensitizing the public on its stance on national issues and university education.
“We have had zonal press conferences. Abuja zone had its own on August 31, 2016. Although I was present, the event was anchored by the zonal coordinator, Theophilus Lagi,” he told PREMIUM TIMES.
“During the event, we listed all the things we have been trying to get the federal government to look into.
“This we did so that the general public can be made aware of what we are doing and the current state of things between ASUU and the federal government.
“We have never given a date for any form of strike, whether warning strike or full blown strike. There was nothing like a date fixed for a strike,” he said.

NDA Cadet brutalised To Death A Day After Arrival
A fresh Cadet of Nigeria Defence Academy, NDA, Kaduna, James Didam Bulus, has died of alleged brutalisation from senior cadets, 24 hours after he finished registration and reported to hostel.
Sources informed Saturday Vanguard in Kaduna that people wept uncontrollably at the funeral of the 18 year-old James, with registration number NDA/ 11537, at the Military Cemetery, on Whaff Road, Kaduna, on Thursday while a contingent of Nigeria Army buried the late cadet with full military honour, even though he had served his country for only 24 hours.
Brigadier General, MG Kangye, Cadets Commandant of the school, handed over the Nigeria National Flag, a pair of army boot and army ceremonial cap to the mourning father of the deceased, Mr Didam Joshua, as women cried uncontrollably in the fenced cemetery.
Relations of the deceased cadet were too distraught to speak to our correspondent, but a close family friend of Joshua said he was beaten to death on his “introductory” night.
He said: “He arrived NDA on Saturday, 3rd September, 2016 and on Monday, 5th September; I was told that he was dead. It was my friend that drove his son to the gate of old NDA and they parted ways happily. But, I was told that he died on Sunday after he did not survive what I was told was ‘introduction’ beatings from his seniors. At the mortuary, you could see stitches on his head and he had bruises on other parts of the body. The NDA said that he died of stomach pain and that before he could be taken to the hospital, he died on the way.
“I asked ‘how can such a brilliant, young boy who was very eager, proud and happy to serve his country get killed just a day when he reported to start what we all thought will be a brilliant military career?
“How can a healthy, smart boy who was never a trouble maker have such wounds on his body, and someone is saying he had stomach problem? God knows the best. But it will be difficult for my friend (Joshua) to pull through this agony, especially his wife, “, he said.
When contacted, the Public Relations Officer, PRO, of NDA, Captain Musa Yahaya, said that James, who hails from Kaduna municipality, had an accident on the day he was to report and came to NDA with injuries.
He said: “It was when the new cadets were queuing to receive their kits that Cadet Didam slumped. He was immediately rushed to the clinic and was given the best of medical attention. When the doctors examined him, they found out that he had internal bleeding. He had earlier confided to one of his colleagues that he had an accident on his way to NDA. But that he was afraid to tell the authority so that they would not reject him. He was never brutalized. It was an accident that he had. That was what the autopsy confirmed. He died on Monday.”
